Juggling…

As I’m working to get more organized and back on track, I’m realizing that you can’t focus on just one ball or you’ll never get them all in the air…  So here I am, throwing them all in the air and hoping to keep them off the ground…

Don’t mind me if I look a little crazy while I get my rhythm…

This is mostly hilarious to me, but if it helps people find a comfortable way to exercise, I am all for it…

What Track Are You On???

I was talking to a friend this morning who was upset about being “off track”.  My response was that she could get back “on track” at any time, like right now.  She had the saddest look on her face and said that she had already had a terrible breakfast…

We can’t do anything to change what has happened in the past, but at any moment we can make choices to change what happens in the future.  Our best method to affect the future is to make a plan.

I smiled and said WHO CARES!!!  It’s not important what you had this morning, tell me what you’re going to have for the rest of the day.  She said that she had some fruit and veggies in the fridge and that she had some frozen meals that she could have for lunch and dinner.  I said that it sounds like the right track to me and suggested that she make a plan for tomorrow too…

Feeling that you are “off track” can be such a heavy weight to carry and that stress can keep you stuck.  Getting back on track doesn’t require a grand gesture, just switch trains.  Your itinerary can be modified at anytime.

It’s Just a Plan…

I am a “plan” person.  I think it helps me to be more successful.  At times, it helps me to reduce stress.  At times, it makes me a complete lunatic.

Planning is just that…  a goal, a hope, a strategy…  Sometimes you (or I) have to remember that grasping too tightly to the plan can keep us focused on the small picture…  When life happens and the plan has to be scrapped, let it go…  Step back and look at the big picture…  Take a deep breath…  and start a new plan…

Hello Nerves, I’ve Been Expecting You…

So this week is going to pretty much be a “run talk” week.  I am starting to get a little nervous.  Worrying about the weather:  too hot, too still, too windy, storms, etc…  Worrying about the course:  the HILL x 2…  Worrying about some kind of clumsy injury between now and then…  I am running a mile or so either tonight or tomorrow, probably up and down the North Avenue hill a couple times, then I am done running until race day.  I am going to do yoga on the beach on Saturday, which should be a good way to stretch out and relax.  My parents are coming into town on Saturday and we’re planning to go to Summerfest (a big music festival on the lake).  My sister is coming into town tonight on her way to Las Vegas, so hopefully we can relax a little bit this evening.  Just trying to remind myself to breathe and that I will do just fine.
